How would you like to work from wherever you wanted as long as you had a good internet connection?

How would that change your life?

How would that feel? Pretty awesome, right?

I think so, and I've been doing it for almost 2 years now! My only regret is not doing it sooner!

In late 2016, I decided to quit my job. I was tired of working long hours,
having little to no control of my schedule #worktakespriority #nolife, and
feeling like I was just treading water #goingnowhere.

Originally when I went to college, I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do.
I was interested in wayyyy too many things. Finally, after already completing my Associates Degree,
and finishing some undergrad classes, I decided that I wanted to switch my major and focus on
business and computer science with the goal of starting my own business.

So I finished my Bachelor's degree. YAY! 🎉😄👍

Graduated. And got a promotion to management at the J.O.B. that I had been working at since
high school. . . Yay? 🤔🤨

Salary. Work more hours for about the same per hour rate MINUS overtime? . . . No yay. 😐😒

I realized something wasn't quite right, but I hadn't put my finger on it. So, what did I do?
Found a different job with better hours.

But I still didn't have a business and didn't really know how to get started.
I knew I wanted an online business because I had learned how to build websites and that was fun.

But I didn't want to do that ALL DAY.

And I didn't want to sit at a desk. #letsmove #cantsitwontsit

I had a good idea of what business I DIDN'T want (and what jobs I didn't want,
but was some how still looking for the right one.)

I needed to be able to figure out how to build a business. It seemed like college gave me
a bunch of pieces to build a business, but I was missing some pieces and
everything to connect them. Not to mention, I didn't have the time available to
build an online business even if I knew how.

Between my commute to and from work, the amount of hours at work, having some resemblance
of a social and family life, and attempting to take care of myself. . . There was no time left. ⌛⏰

So, I decided it was time to get rid of the commute, increase my hourly rate, and be able to
spend less time working for other people and more time working on my business.

I started looking for work from home jobs and came across VIPKID.
I had never heard of it before and it seemed really awesome.
I've always loved helping people learn new things… but I couldn't help wondering,
“Is this a scam?”.🤨

So I ignored it.

And ignored it.

Then I saw an announcement that VIPKID was going to be having a
Live Coaching and Hiring Event in Dallas.

I registered.

I felt better about being able to go talk to real people face to face and read them.
Still not convinced this wasn't some type of scam.

Boy, am I glad I went! It was AMAZING! 😍🤩

I couldn't believe that I had never heard of this company before and thought...
this was such a wonderful opportunity!

I applied that same day while at the event.

And I was hired within a week or two later! And before I knew it,
I was teaching English to kids in China.

I am now on my fourth contract with VIPKID and will be signing my fifth this year.

Since I quit my regular job, I have been able to have the freedom to travel. I now take vacation…

• For as long as I want 🎉
• How often I want 🎉

This is my at home set up! I use the iMac that I had already, as well as,
the Plantronics Blackwire 320 USB corded headset w/ mic. And of course, all of my props!
